Looklet – S/S Trends 2011 – Wild for Prints

I love clothes that exude colour(obvious from my previous Colour Block post?). And more than that I love prints. So when I put this outfit together I was all about the colours and prints and using them as much as possible. My goal this summer is to wear as many dresses as possible, in as many prints as I can find. Or if I can’t find print dresses, I’ll use neutrals and jazz them up with accessories that have prints. This Carolina Herrera dress is a must on my wish list. Or at least if I can find something similar I might be a tad satisfied! But the blue just pops! And the wedge heels (which by the way are my favourite type of heel to wear) are quite the lovely pair of wedges. Prints are definitely one of the trends for summer that I will be wearing!

Looklet – S/S Trends 2011 – Colour Block

I love wearing colour!! Love it! So you can understand why this season’s Colour Blocking trend is one of my top favourites! For this look I didn’t hold back using colour! The Zara shoes have a touch of turquoise on the heel that matches the belt. And I used the monochromatic tights to break up the outfit a bit, and I think that it pulled the look together! And of course a little bling didn’t hurt anyone! The necklace is a great finishing piece that added a little “something-something” to the outfit!

Looklet – S/S Trends 2011 – The Minimalist

Using Looklet.com, I created this outfit with inspiration from one of this season’s trends – The Minimalist. The Minimalist is about exactly that – keeping it simple. White, creams, and off-whites, play a big part of this trend. You can either use simple basic lines, or use delicate looking fabrics. I think this is a very classy trend, but can also be played down and worn casually! And I know that this trend is mainly about whites, but I had, had, HAD, to add a pop of colour! Love it!

Better Late Than Never – LG FASHION WEEK – Denis Gagnon

It’s been a couple months…but better late than never…these are some shots that I took at the Denis Gagnon show back in March. I fell in love with the bright colours and the movement of the fabrics. The shoes, which caught my eye right away, were from Aldo. But I do believe that Gagnon and his team made some obvious alterations – much to my liking! I fell in love with the shoes! I wanted a pair as soon as I saw them! I can’t wait for winter (cannot believe I said that) s0 that I can rock some bright colours to beat the winter blues!!

And surprise – there was more rain. Nothing like grey skies and a lot of rain to remind me of my childhood in Vancouver! I’m not a fan!! Can you tell? I was using Polyvore the other day and came up with this Rain-Inspired creative. If I wanted to go out in the rain – this is what I would wear! I have a pair of Blue Lacoste rain boots, but I’m kind of falling in love with those Burberry boots (mainly because I see similar boots everywhere!!). Yes I am one of those people, if I see a lot of something, I might just start to want it!
