Looklet – S/S Trends 2011 – Colour Block

I love wearing colour!! Love it! So you can understand why this season’s Colour Blocking trend is one of my top favourites! For this look I didn’t hold back using colour! The Zara shoes have a touch of turquoise on the heel that matches the belt. And I used the monochromatic tights to break up the outfit a bit, and I think that it pulled the look together! And of course a little bling didn’t hurt anyone! The necklace is a great finishing piece that added a little “something-something” to the outfit!

Yesterday, I actually had a chance to walk through Yorkdale, without feeling rushed, or like I was short on time. I went into Artizia and saw this coat that had the most interesting print on it. When I was back home in Vancouver, my mother infused this love of Native Art in me (it’s her newest obsession), and…it stuck. I was also looking on People.com – the style section, naturally – and came across celebs that were wearing this very same print. It’s called Navajo Prints. Love the look. It’s comfy and not overstated. It’s one of those things that really speaks true to the phrase – fashion is art. The Missoni Spring 2011 collection kind of has that native look about it. Lots and lots of really bright, vibrant, ethnic prints. Makes me want to infuse more colour into my wardrobe.
