Currently Carrying…April 29

And the bag collection keeps growing – here’s the latest addition to my collection and what I’m “Currently Carrying”!

I bought this tote early last month from Zara when I was looking for an everyday bag for the Spring/Summer season. The fact that it has handles and a shoulder strap had me sold from the moment I laid my eyes on it!

I admittedly walked away at first (I was in love with another bag in the store – a cute little black & white number), but eventually went back for this beauty. And I haven’t looked back since!

It’s spacious, and I love the colour! It does have that trapeze-like trend no doubt inspired by handbags by Céline.

It’s been a while since I’ve bought a bag from Zara and I can say that they have made me a very happy bag lady!

Currently Carrying – Longchamp Planètes

When I bought my Longchamp tote my first thought was that fashion and function have met and started a love affair that they can’t get enough of. This little tote is perfect for most any occasion and does the job with style and grace.

My bag happens to be from the Planètes line and not Le Pliage, which is the line you see most people wearing.

For one thing my tote is a thicker canvas material, using the same colour for both the leather and canvas materials. It also doesn’t have the same fold-down feature that Le Pliage totes are known for which really makes no difference to me!

However it’s only been two weeks and I’ve already managed to get the bag slightly dirty. Luckily Longchamp provides cleaning instructions for all their products on their website. Click here for their cleaning instructions.

A little stain won’t stop me from sporting this bright and sturdy bag though!

I will most likely add a few more of these bags to my collection, especially since Longchamp offers you the opportunity to create your own Le Pliage! Definitely going to check that out!

Currently Wearing – A Wardrobe Of All Seasons

Mother Nature are you there? It’s Me Élana.

Not that I think Mother Nature is listening to any of us these days – but it was definitely worth a try!

When the weather is as unpredictable as it has been lately – your wardrobe has to be a “wardrobe of all seasons”.

This means you don’t get to put your winter jacket away just yet, but you can start to move that spring jacket to the front of your closet.

On this particular day, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be cold or hot (yeah right). So, I decided to dress with simple but comfortable (and warm) layers.

Let’s just say I’ll “spring” into action once the weather does the same thing.

Can’t wait for some warm & dry weather to arrive! In the meantime…I’ll be choosing my outfits very carefully.

Currently Wearing…Power-up with a Bright & Powerful Blazer

Blazer – Banana Republic; Top – JACOB; Trousers – GAP, Heels – J.Crew; Earrings – vintage; Watch – vintage Swatch; Bracelets – Pandora, Brandy Melville, Joe Fresh; Nail Colour – Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics in Get Wet

When I was little I always loved to see women in power suits. The strong shoulder, the sometimes bold-colour and the confidence that went along with the look always intrigued me!

This blazer is one of my favourites in my closet! It goes so well with so many things, and it’s in a bright colour that I love! It’s my ode to power-suits in my own fun way. And since the office was going to be closed for Good Friday, I decided to dress a little more simple for my 9-5 look. I guess you could say it was dressy-casual?

I’m a repeat accessory girl, so you’ll more than likely see me use the same accessories throughout the week/month/year. Again it depends on my mood! The earrings are vintage I believe(?). Can’t remember – they were given to me by a colleague. And I had to do a close-up of the interesting brocade design on my vintage Swatch. The wishbone necklace I’m wearing – it’s been around my neck ever since I bought it a earlier this week from Brandy Melville.

My Mona heels from J.Crew in Nude are a staple in my closet; again another item that goes a long way with a lot of different pieces!

I’m looking forward to this weekend for all the fun, family & food!

Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! Happy Easter!

Currently Wearing…the Blues

Today was an interesting day. I woke up way too early and my thoughts immediately turned to “What will I wear today?”. I’m not one to plan my outfits ahead of time (unless absolutely necessary). I like to wake up, determine my mood and go from there. And although the title of this post speaks of “The Blues” that’s quite the opposite of how I was feeling!

I decided since the sun was shining I would take advantage of that and wear a flowy pleated skirt (from Old Navy) and a top in a bright colour (from Zara). This skirt actually used to be floor length, until I introduced it to a pair of scissors. It was an impulse DIY project from last week.

I kept my accessories simple with a variation of stud earrings from Forever 21, continued my arm party with a new addition from Brandy Melville and you’ll never find me not wearing a watch!

Hope everyone enjoyed this sorta-Spring-like day!
