As the cool younger sister of Beyonce – Solange Knowles definitely holds her own when it comes to personal style. That’s why I choose to sketch her. She’s definitely one of my style idols with her crazy curly hair and her love of wild prints and colour combos, what’s not to love?
After watching the Golden Globe Awards the other night (along with masses), I was happy to see red as a feature colour on the red carpet. With celebs like Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong’o, Emma Watson, Taylor Swift and more donning the fiery hue, it was interesting to see how they all wore the colour and the different ways in which they did so. The fashion world was rocked this morning as several big-name publications (Reuters, Vogue UK, Wall Street Journal) break the news of Creative Director Marc Jacobs’ departure from French fashion house Louis Vuitton. Right now most publications are reporting that the news comes by way of a source close to fashion company LVMH, but no statement has been released from the design star himself. He’s made such an impact from the start to the very end. But as my mother likes to say ‘For a season, for a reason.’ This is a great opportunity for MJ to focus on the empire that is the Marc Jacobs brand and I look forward to what he presents next!
