Curls on Camera – Twists

I attended a great event this past Saturday night called Curls, Coils and Cocktails. I always get so jealous when I see events being held all over the world for my fellow naturalistas, and yet in Toronto, there is hardly anything for us girls with curls! The curls had to be worn out for this event, naturally . In any case, I had a lot of fun and even met a possible new hairstylist – because…I actually don’t remember the last time I got a haircut. Maybe it was November?..I can’t remember. I also won a prize! Two pairs of earrings designed by Toni Daley. I can’t wait to wear them! Read more about the event and see what happened to my hair!

The Curl Cam – Look, but don’t touch!

I take care to choose the products I use in my hair and the way that I style it and I think my curly-hair sisters can relate to the story that I’m about to share: You’ve just spent a considerable amount of time washing and styling your curls. You head out for the day and at least one person you come across wants to TOUCH your precious curls! You kindly explain to them that it took you quite a bit of time to wash, detangle and style it and would love for them to look, but don’t touch! My earliest memory of this happening was when I was around 4 years old (see below for über cute picture of mini-me). I was in Hong Kong with my parents and we were walking through an extremely crowded street market. Because I hadn’t yet been bestowed with the gift of height (I’m still waiting..), I was allowed to sit atop my father’s shoulders as we walked through this packed market.
