I attended a great event this past Saturday night called Curls, Coils and Cocktails. I always get so jealous when I see events being held all over the world for my fellow naturalistas, and yet in Toronto, there is hardly anything for us girls with curls!
The curls had to be worn out for this event, naturally .
In any case, I had a lot of fun and even met a possible new hairstylist – because…I actually don’t remember the last time I got a haircut. Maybe it was November?..I can’t remember.
I also won a prize! Two pairs of earrings designed by Toni Daley.
I can’t wait to wear them!

A great performance by Saidah Baba Talibah!
Being around so many natural-haired beauties that night inspired me to try something new with my hair. When I first started out I was going to braid my hair…yeah right. If I had started Saturday night, I would still be braiding up until now (Tuesday at 12am).
So twists it was. I had never done twists, I had once attempted but given up. The whole process only took about 1 hour and I used very little product in my hair. When I did use product I used Fantasia IC Hair Poliser with Olive Oil Moisturizing Shine Serum for each twist.
I know there are products out there that are used specifically for twists so I’m going to do a little research and see what they are, and how they work out with my hair. I have to work on those ends!
