Captured On Camera: Tomato Cucumber Salad Recipe

Have you tried the new(ish) app from Instagram? Hyperlapse takes videos recorded in real time and drastically (and dramatically) speeds them up. It’s supposed to give a cinematic quality to your videos. I tried the app out a few times already, but now that I should be focusing on what I eat and how I exercise (soccer season is right around the corner), I figured it would be a good way to record the recipes I use and create, and to showcase how I make them. I figured I would start off with one of my absolute favourite salad recipes – a tomato and cucumber salad with onion and feta. I love making this salad! Super easy and super simple (only five ingredients needed). Watch to see how I made this salad recipe: Tomato Cucumber Salad with Feta 2 tomatoes 1 cucumber 1/2 of a small onion 1 tablespoon of olive oil 3/4 cup of Feta Slice and dice the cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. Mix all three into a dish and add the tablespoon of …

Captured On Camera: Moda:ko Press Preview

Seeing how dependent people (namely me) are on their precious tech-devices, it only makes sense that we should want to protect them in the most stylish way possible right? Last week I attended the press preview for Canadian brand Moda:ko to experience first-hand their stylish, savvy and ever-so-practical tech cases (which also double as cute clutches I might add). Available for iPads, iPad Minis and MacBooks, there were a variety of designs available to choose from. And how can you not get excited about these crazy cool prints and colours?? Now being someone who is absolutely obsessed with bags, clutches, purses…you name it, I wanted to take them all home! But in the end I walked away with a super cute case for my iPad Mini! It even matched a blazer I had in my closet! There are two different collections available from the brand, the Downtown Collection (think bold, bright prints) and the Uptown Collection (sleek, sophisticated, also with Italian leather detailing). The thing about the case that I especially love is that it actually feels like …

Captured on Camera: Eurotrip Day 3 – Rome

My last full day in Rome was spent quite leisurely; which was completely fine by me! Before I left for my trip I was told that everything that I see during the day, I must see at night as well. The only place I managed to see at night was the Colosseum. Seeing it all lit up is so worth it! Earlier that day however, I was able to see a few more sights and places. I love Rome! I can’t wait to come back! It should be noted that the during my time in Rome, the heat was unreal (no wonder they don’t advise tourists to visit in August). I couldn’t handle the heat. I’ll admit it. And usually when this is the case, my hair turns into a giant frizzy mess. So why are my curls looking so nice in the Roman heat? It’s because my friends at Aveda Canada hooked me up with travel sized products from the be curly line! So thankful for that! And if you know me, you know how much I love Aveda products …

Hello Sunshine!

Fall has to be my favourite fashion season. Chunky cable knit sweaters, boots, jackets, luxurious materials, scarves and gloves! I love it all! Since the Fall season is right around the corner, I’m looking for pieces to update my current wardrobe and I’m obsessed with this shade of yellow (some might call it marigold?)! H&M Cable Knit Sweater | Converse High Tops | Charlotte Olympia Shoes | MARC BY MARC JACOBS Crossbody | Victoria Beckham Tote | Honey Comb Bracelet | Tory Burch Earrings | Infinity Scarf | Maison Takuya iPhone Case | Marc Jacobs Orange Sunglasses    For me it’s definitely the colour of the moment. It’s bright, cheery, and fun. It also could be the fact that we experienced a lack of summer here in Toronto. Or it could just be that I’m attracted to bright & happy colours. In any case this shade of yellow has me wanting to shop, shop, and shop some more!   Like I said before, it’s a colour that I definitely want to incorporate into my wardrobe this season! Hopefully I can find it in a sweater or a great jacket, or even a …

Captured On Camera: EuroTrip Day 2 – Rome

I got an early start to the day with my only goal being to find the famous Piazza Navona, an extremely popular tourist destination that was built in 1st century AD (it was also featured in the movie Angels & Demons)! Since I kind of, sort of, gave up on my map-reading abilities, I decided to look for landmarks to guide me along the way. Bernini’s Triton Fountain would serve as a great landmark to start my day. Early in the morning I came across this tiny little church hidden away on a side street. I crave experiences like this, finding beautiful little secrets off the beaten path. I had no idea what was behind the wooden doors (it didn’t look like a church), but it was nice little retreat to come across. I also discovered (well, not really discovered, but you get the point) Palazzo Barberini, a palace that was built in 1549. I still can’t comprehend that all of this was built hundreds of years ago, the pictures I took on this trip don’t do any justice to what my …
