Currently Wearing: Prints

My favourite trend of the moment has to be printed pants. It’s one trend that I am definitely happy to have around and I’m loving this pair that I bought from LOFT.

Not only is this pair of printed pants a great addition to my office wardrobe, but it can be dressed up for events after work as well. To take this look from day-to-night I would change up my flats for a pair of heels, and switch my bag for a clutch and I’ll be set.

Here are a few things I like to keep in mind when I wear this trend:

I like to pair my prints with neutral tops for a balanced look,I’m not too comfortable with mixing patterns just yet, but I’ll get there!

Make sure to check the care instructions for your printed pants, some of the fabrics used can be pretty delicate!

Hudson Jeans Fall 2013 Preview

It’s the little details that set denim brands apart, and with a premium denim brand like Hudson Jeans, you can see that classic, artistic & edgy vibe represented in all their product offering.

Launched in 2002, the London based brand, which was started in Los Angeles by Peter Kim, positions itself as a ‘free-thinking fashion identity, rooted in the spirit of rock-and-roll’.

Here are few of my favourite looks from the preview that I recently attended:

I love, love, LOVE the piping detail on this pair of jeans. I can already picture myself wearing these for a night out on the town!

Colin Skinny – Brit Punk

One thing that you may not know about Hudson Jeans, which I also just recently learned, is that the Union Jack will always be a part of every collection from the brand. The brand states that ‘the iconic Union Jack logo is an embodiment and symbol of the DNA of the Hudson brand’.

This Colin Skinny, which has the colours of the Union Jack as the print, would be a fantastic addition to my weekend wardrobe. I can see myself pairing this with a great pair of moccasins, and a white t-shirt.

Do these even look like a pair of jeans? I would wear these to the office! The floral print is super chic & black and white goes with everything.

I feel like I need more structured pieces in my wardrobe. The older (yes I’m bring up the subject of age) I get, the more my tastes change. That’s expected right? Flow-y fabrics are fun, but not necessarily for an office environment. Although it does depend on how these types of fabrics are worn and what they are paired with.

This particular outfit was worn on a Friday when things get a little more casual. Regardless, I still like to keep my outfits looking professional and that’s where my J.Crew tweed jacket comes in handy! I don’t particularly like wearing jeans, I prefer Khakis or Chinos (which are basically the same thing).

The only thing I worry about with pieces like this jacket is – how do I clean it properly without spending money sending it to the dry cleaners? Or maybe I should just avoid trying to clean it myself altogether?

Anyways…I’m pretty sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of this little jacket! But in the meantime, I’m going to search for some more pieces to add to my office wardrobe! Wish me luck!

Currently Wearing AND Carrying – Sunny rays on dreary days!

I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind. As I write this post, it’s currently sunny outside. However, yesterday that wasn’t the case. The Don Valley Parkway flooded, there were tornadoes wreaking havoc south of us in the States and it was just not an overly pleasant day weather-wise.

But regardless of what the weather is like, my trench coat for this spring/summer season is almost like a big…slap in the face! Just because it’s dark outside doesn’t mean that my clothing choices should follow suit!

Luckily I was wearing and carrying clothing and a bag that got me through the day! I love my Nella Bella Brand Rumex bag ! It hasn’t left my side since my friends at Nella Bella Brand sent it to me! Give a girl who loves bags easy access to them and you get a dangerously-fashionable combination!
