Picture This! – Memories…in a photog sequence.

So I just found all these photos that I had thought were posted previously. They’re just a few of my favourite pictures that I had taken last year. The events range from TIFF, trips to Quebec, Vancouver… LG Fashion Week. Had a good time last year – and this year has proved to be just as exciting if not even more! **PS. No zoom was used for the celeb photos 🙂 ** thought I’d just mention that !

Real World Runway – Tintin

So yesterday I succumbed to a day of window shopping on the Friday. I just couldn’t help myself. I had the day to myself (which is rare) and decided to check out some places that I had never really…..let’s just say I hardly headed out into these areas. I first wound up at Fairview Mall, then I decided to check out the Yonge-Eglinton area and finally I ended up at the Joe Fresh Studio located on St.Clair W. I didn’t buy much – just three things, but my day wound up to be a shopping adventure. I let anything and everything inspire me – I read the subway map and said I want to go…. HERE. And went. It was fun, interesting & exhausting. While at Fairview I stopped in at Forever 21. I think their location is the 2nd best that I’ve ever been to, the first being in a shopping centre just outside of Seattle. Anyways I walked around for a bit checking everything out, they have some cute tribal-print skirts that I …

Big Hair & Girls with Curls

Personally, I haven’t always been a fan big hair (even though I have it myself). And I guess you could say that I have a love-hate relationship with it. Nowadays though, I can’t get enough of my hair being in a ‘fro. It’s all cute and short….love it 🙂 But there are times when I really miss my long & curly hair (short & curly is cute like I said – but when it’s long, watch out!!!). And tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model made me miss it even more! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of curls and big hair on my favourite episode of the series – the Makeover Episode! I think though that it has been a good 2 or 3 years since I’ve watched the series…it seriously started to bore me. But now I find myself eager to watch it again. Girls with curls know the trials and tribulations of having this type of hair. Sometimes we love it, sometimes we don’t. It can depend on …

Haute Note! – TopShop is coming across the pond!!

Today it was revealed that The Bay would be introducing none other than TOPSHOP & TOPMAN to Canada! One of their Toronto locations will be the lucky department store to host the first Topshop location coming this Fall! This is such exciting news! The launch is sure to drive people crazy! And it will most likely be one of the most anticipated fashion events to happen to Toronto since….Lanvin did a collabo H&M? Although one of the allures of going to England for me (other than visiting my family of course) was to go to a Topshop store, since I couldn’t really find it here (other than at Jonathan & Olivia [49 OSSINGTON AVENUE]). But now that they are coming here…..I think England can wait a litttttle longer (but not too long!)! This is extremely exciting news! I can’t wait to see what they plan on doing for the official launch! I will definitely stay tuned to see what happens with this fashion event 🙂 Check out their website to see what you can look …

Tribal Dancing

Yesterday, I actually had a chance to walk through Yorkdale, without feeling rushed, or like I was short on time. I went into Artizia and saw this coat that had the most interesting print on it. When I was back home in Vancouver, my mother infused this love of Native Art in me (it’s her newest obsession), and…it stuck. I was also looking on People.com – the style section, naturally – and came across celebs that were wearing this very same print. It’s called Navajo Prints. Love the look. It’s comfy and not overstated. It’s one of those things that really speaks true to the phrase – fashion is art. The Missoni Spring 2011 collection kind of has that native look about it. Lots and lots of really bright, vibrant, ethnic prints. Makes me want to infuse more colour into my wardrobe.
