3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

For those that know me, they know how much I love bags. Most girls love their shoes, but I am a self-proclaimed bag lady! It all started when I was 5 years old and my father gave me two purses – a day purse and an evening purse, and that is when my love affair with this versatile accessory began. So when I heard that there was going to be a 3.1 Phillip Lim collection made for Target that included bags, I secretly screamed. Well, maybe it wasn’t so secret! And not only that, it has been reported that the entire collection (apparel and accessories for men and women) will range in cost from $19.99 to $299.99. Here are four bags that I will be scouting come the day of the launch on September 15! I’m super excited for this collaboration and can’t wait to add that yellow trapeze bag to my collection! Featuring – Nayme Necklaces

What’s in a name? Apparently more than you know! Canadian brand Nayme is a jewelry line that takes the meaning of your name and then makes a pendant to represent it. I love the idea and love the look of these elegant charms. According to the website, when you buy any Nayme necklace, you also get a personalized box that includes details like the origin and meaning of your name. So, let’s take a look at my two names – Élana Camille. According to the Nayme website the meaning of Elana is: Of Hebrew origin meaning “oak tree”.* And the meaning of Camille is: Of Latin origin, Camille means “free born”.* And here are the two charms that represent them: Elana Camille A bird and a tree? How fitting that the two should end up complimenting each other. If you are ever looking for a great gift idea, I’d say look no further. It’s a lovely and sentimental gift. I know I’ll be sending some not-so-subtle hints to the boyfriend! Images: via Nayme website *Information …

DIY – Nail Art Accessories

Give your accessories a facelift with this quick and easy DIY project! What you need: A plain piece of jewellery (I was lucky, my bracelet had a design that was great to “colour in”) Nail polish A pencil or pen with a very thin tip (for more detailed designs) newspaper to keep things clean & tidy Depending on what type of design you want to do on your piece of jewellery you can “paint” it one of two ways: Start with one nail polish colour and pour it out on the newspaper. You shouldn’t need more than the size of a dime to start. Use the thin-tip pencil or pen to create a design on your jewellery OR, use the nail polish brush straight from the bottle to coat the piece of jewellery however you like And don’t forget to check out my video at the end of this post to see the finished product! Bracelet – Forever 21; Nail polish – Ardene Last weekend while I was at home and sick , I just …

Hudson Jeans Fall 2013 Preview

It’s the little details that set denim brands apart, and with a premium denim brand like Hudson Jeans, you can see that classic, artistic & edgy vibe represented in all their product offering. Launched in 2002, the London based brand, which was started in Los Angeles by Peter Kim, positions itself as a ‘free-thinking fashion identity, rooted in the spirit of rock-and-roll’. Here are few of my favourite looks from the preview that I recently attended: Dakota Crop Super Skinny Libertine Piping  I love, love, LOVE the piping detail on this pair of jeans. I can already picture myself wearing these for a night out on the town! Colin Skinny – Brit Punk One thing that you may not know about Hudson Jeans, which I also just recently learned, is that the Union Jack will always be a part of every collection from the brand. The brand states that ‘the iconic Union Jack logo is an embodiment and symbol of the DNA of the Hudson brand’. This Colin Skinny, which has the colours of the Union Jack as the …

Currently Wearing – A Touch Of Tweed

Jacket & Shoes – J.Crew; Necklace – Banana Republic; Shirt – Suzy Shier; Khakis – GAP; Watch – Swatch (vintage); Earrings – Honey I feel like I need more structured pieces in my wardrobe. The older (yes I’m bring up the subject of age) I get, the more my tastes change. That’s expected right? Flow-y fabrics are fun, but not necessarily for an office environment. Although it does depend on how these types of fabrics are worn and what they are paired with. This particular outfit was worn on a Friday when things get a little more casual. Regardless, I still like to keep my outfits looking professional and that’s where my J.Crew tweed jacket comes in handy! I don’t particularly like wearing jeans, I prefer Khakis or Chinos (which are basically the same thing). The only thing I worry about with pieces like this jacket is – how do I clean it properly without spending money sending it to the dry cleaners? Or maybe I should just avoid trying to clean it myself altogether? …
